Ku: A Small Form with Boundless Energy
The Movement of Line series showcases the intricate Sanggam inlay technique, where countless fine lines are carved into the porcelain and infused with pigment, creating a visually striking interplay of depth and contrast. The bold black lines seem to absorb fleeting emotions while seamlessly blending with the form.
Inspired by the Chinese character 球 (meaning "sphere"), Ku takes on a uniquely refined shape—its subtly flattened base resembling a chestnut or a Hershey’s Kiss. While soft and rounded, the artist’s precise, dynamic lines create a surface that evokes the movement of an asteroid drifting through space.
Though compact, Ku carries a powerful presence. The meticulously carved lines extend effortlessly to the base, forming a rhythmic flow that feels alive from every angle. Small yet full of depth, Ku radiates an intense energy, making it a statement piece that transforms any space with its quiet strength.
